“MelaniWho?”…. “Melani Ismail. That’s Who!”

Melani Ismail’s talents have been reverberating through the music, sports, film, and entertainment industry for the past two decades. She has been a creative undercurrent for many singers, musicians, actors, and independent artists of today.

Melani is a conceptual visionary, who is steadily expanding her territorial reach through her many business ventures in literature, film, and television operated under her Creative Services Management, Production, and Consulting Company: MAI Productions, Inc.

Shortly after the unexpected death of her father in 2006, Melani’s personal passion for singing began to tug at her heart, and she recorded her first single entitled “Why Must I”, which was nominated in The Independent Music Awards (2007) Best R&B Song Category. In 2009, Melani debuted her completed album and headlined her own show, which led to numerous personal speaking engagements and performances including the 2009 NFL Wives Conference hosted in Washington D.C. This show opened the door to perform live on the reality show, “Football Wives” (2010-11) which aired weekly to reached over a million viewers. Melani quips, “Getting up to sing in front of people was a challenge, because I was so accustomed to working behind the scenes, but it has opened more doors on accident than most of the ones I tried to open on purpose.”

Melani recently completed her first literary project, a spiritual memoir, entitled “The Freedom of Letting Go.” The book is a self help resource that presents as a memoir. Melani uses fun metaphors and a mix of humor to talk about some very serious issues including fear, divorce, bullying, and even tragedy. She then presents them as life lessons and information tools. Her goal is to help others recognize fear, learn how to overcome it, and walk in faith, while taking them on a real time journey of self discovery.

She is currently doing book signings all over the country, as well as speaking, performing at special events, colleges, and churches. She is often called upon to answer questions about the portrayal of women in the media due to her reality television casting on VH1′s ‘Football Wives’ in 2010-11. Her additional creative activities include finishing an EP to accompany her book, and penning the follow up to her first book.

FAMILY

Melani Ismail is the wife of retired National Football League (NFL) player, Raghib “Rocket” Ismail. They are the proud parents of four children ages ranging from 9 – 16. Melani also states, “This is by far my most important and rewarding job and comes before any business opportunity that comes my way. Being a wife and raising my children is way better than being famous. It is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received next to my relationship with Jesus Christ.”
